Overnight I received the following sad news from Andre Ingram (BBC SCPD 1977 to 1996):
It is with great sadness that I bring the news of the passing of Ian Andy Andrews last night after a very short period of illness following a fall.
David , Ian’s son has asked me to say a few words at the funeral.
I have known Ian and David for 34 years and of that time whilst I was in SCPD telecine and later VT section he guided me and many others in his kind gentle manner.
I would like some possible reminiscences of other past BBC staff members.
Could you possibly send out an email asking people to contact me.
I will email you when I know the details of the funeral.

I’ll post further details as I receive them.
Ron Clark has just sent me these two documents which give a snapshot of daily life at TVC at the end of August 1975.
Many names and programme titles for the older Oldboys.
Firstly the Daily Duty Sheets for Friday 29th August 1975.
And the Studio Allocation Charts for Week 36.
The pdfs that were here have been slowing things down a bit, and are now available in <Downloads>.
Many of you will remember Janet Bone – for years the PA to Yvonne Littlewood and later her FM. I am sorry to tell you that Janet died recently. Details of her funeral are below :-
I’ve just had confirmation that Janet’s funeral will be held on Thursday 7th January.
There will be a private cremation at 10.40 followed by a service for Janet at 12.00 at the St Mary with St Alban Church, Ferry Road, Teddington, TW11 9NN and afterwards at The Park Hotel, Park Road, Teddington, TW11 OAB.
Everyone is welcome to the church service and to the Park Hotel.

At last Thursday’s Television Recording Christmas Lunch I was given a document that may well be of interest to many of you – especially those of a ‘certain age. It’s the December 1961 Staff List.
1961 Staff List
This should have been posted yesterday, but the latest Windows 10 upgrade has created havoc here, and I’m only just able to handle graphics etc!!!
PS This will also go in the 1961 section on the main menu.
PPS. Pictures from the Christmas Lunch online by Monday.
I’ve just received this from Anthony Pugh:-
Thought I would let you know that Roger Smeathers passed away in hospital on Sunday 8th November 2015 following a short illness. He worked in VT at Alexandra Palace after training at Wood Norton in the mid 60’s, Roger went on to joined ATV/Central TV in Birmingham where he worked in the VTR Dept until 2003 when he retired. I expect that some of your VT old boys will remember him.
As yet no date set for Roger’s funeral.
